What can a hacker teach you?
I had the unfortunate experience of being hacked. I could think of this as something negative however I am just going to refuse to.
My site was hacked, but I can give you what my techie taught me today with no reservation.
When you conduct yourself on the Internet, you are not invincible you are a target. What you must do is make it
as hard for them as possible. The more sites you go to, the more vulnerable you are, but do not be scared, just
read.
Tips
Always generate passwords that are long and hard to decipher.
If you have been hacked, change all your important accounts passwords.
Check what you install on your computer, check around on read ups about the product and see that it has a good track record.
I had a few misconceptions about being hacked that now I can share. I assumed they got in via good guessing well this is as far from the truth as possible. I learned it can be done via a email you typically see from an account, with a link to click. It could be as simple as click to approve. So I know now I don’t click links in email, I go directly to site and log in and look.
I also learned my emails were too easy to crack, I needed to make it as hard as possible for them to work it out.
I just want to share this experience so you do not use the same email for everything, so you do not get vulnerable and so only I have to go through this.
